The Area
The Farm and Cottages are located in the hills of the Chevin about a mile from the historic old mill town of Belper. Surrounded by fields, woodlands and Wildlife make it an interesting walking area.
Free course fishing are minutes away from the cottage and golf is available nearby.
There are many excellent pub and restaurants in this area to suit all tastes and budgets, with shops, a supermarket and services just 1 1/2 miles away
A visit to Cromford with its historic mill and Matlock Bath with its spectacular scenery is a must. Continue on to the Peak districk with more beautiful and diverse scenery and many places of interest, both historical and geographic.
Chatsworth House is only one of many fine historic houses open to the public in this area
For Transport enthusiasists there is live steam at the Midland Railway Centre at Butterley near Ripley and Peak Rail at Matlock. The National Tramway museum at Crich is enjoyed by all age groups
Cycle hire is available on the Tissington and High Peak Trails and also the Carsington reservoir Visitors’ centre (or take your own bike)
For a day at the shops or perhaps a visit to a cinema or theatre then Chesterfield, Derby and Nottingham are all within easy reach.
